Thomas Wayne Boyd, 70, a dear brother, retired Army veteran, and avid outdoorsman, passed away peacefully on 29 July 2025 at home, in Gladstone, Oregon. He was a proud member of the St. Helens Senior High School graduating Class of 1973.

Born in Roseburg, Oregon, Tom embraced life with a passion for the outdoors. Tom served his country with honor and dedication as a member of the United States Army. After retiring, he continued to find joy in the natural world.

Tom was happiest when surrounded by nature, whether he was hunting wild game, casting a line for a good catch while fishing, exploring the depths as a skilled scuba diver, or capturing the underwater world through his lens as an underwater photographer. He found solace and excitement in these pursuits. His hobbies and interests helped define who he was.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: his sister Gerri Boyd Riley and her husband James Riley, and his nephew Christopher James (CJ) Riley, all residing in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Boyd and Lois Conner Smith.

At Tom's request, there will be no formal visitation or celebration of life, but his ashes will be spread at his most treasured location in Oregon. An announcement will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
