Obituary

Verna Luella Fuson was born to John Janz and Lorena Finck Janz in Plevna, Montana on March 26, 1928. She was the oldest of 4 children. Her birth was followed by her sister, Delores, brother, Elvin, sister, Betty, and youngest sister Kathy. They moved to Park Place, (Oregon City), Oregon in 1935. Verna wrote about recalling the train ride from Montana to Oregon, wondering if that memory of how small the houses looked, was instrumental in her interest in minatures and her doll house. She attended Oregon City schools until she started working at Woolworths. She met Harley by accident and then again on a blind date in January of 1946. They were married on October 12, 1946 after dating for 10 months. Together they had two girls, Carolyn (passing in 2013), and Sharon. Harley and Verna were married for 58 1/2 years before Harley passed in 2002. Verna was an intregal part of her girls lives and really enjoyed spending time with her grand children. She loved going deer hunting with the family, garage saleing with her sisters, playing Yahtzee and solitaire with anyone who would play. Her competative drive had her bowling and traveling to compete with her team where she had a 179 average. She was a rock hound who used her finds to build the most amazing waterfall into her fish pond and always had time for her grand children (Sandy, Beth, Jason, Melanie, and Matthew), and 11 great grand children, who have great memories of her doll house, building legos with her, and helping with fish pond.
