Verna Hargitt lived for the past 60 years in Gladstone, Oregon. She died on August 7, 2021, at the age of 80.

Verna was born September 22, 1940, in Stafford, OR at the family residence to Benjamin and Violet Moser. She was their fifth child. She graduated in 1958 from West Linn High School. While working at Crown Zellerbach she met John Hargitt. They were married on March 5, 1960. Together they had two children.

Verna did childcare in her home for more than 30 years and even helped to care for her own grandchildren. She had so much love to give. A simple pleasure for her was baking cookies and always giving them away. Gardening and loving babies were her specialty!

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brother Kenneth, sisters Betty and Helen. She is survived by sisters Maryann and Susan, daughter Sandy (Jim), son Larry (Sandie), grandchildren Dan (Sarah), Kristina (David), Mandy (Austin), Michael (Allison), great-grandchildren Aria, Colton, Brooklynn, Juniper, and Wesley.
