Harold Gordon Stewart

Harold (Hal or Bing) Stewart, from West Linn, Oregon was killed in a tractor accident doing what he loved; working on the land he loved for the people he loved. He was 86 years young. Harold was born in Fairdale, ND on April 19, 1930. His family moved to Oregon, where he met and married Lavonne Hiller on June 18, 1952 while serving in the United States Air Force at Mt. Home AFB. After an honorable discharge from the USAF, he moved his growing family to West Linn Oregon. He completed his degree in education and began his career as a middle school teacher and coach at Sunset and Willamette primary schools in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. Hal is known for his love of his God, his family and his friends. Harold is survived by his beloved wife of sixty four years, Lavonne; his dearly loved sons and daughters, Rick, Karen, Randy, Ron and Jodi; 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; his sister Harriette and his brother Dale. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Harry & Mable Stewart, and his brother Merle Stewart. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 12:30 pm at Gladstone Christian Church, where he was an active and committed member. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Gladstone Christian Church Building fund at 305 E. Dartmouth St, Gladstone, OR 97027.
