Lois Jean Figgins

Lois Jean Figgins, age 72, of Oregon City Oregon passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. Lois was born May 1, 1950, in Kellogg, Idaho to Gordon and Susie Batelaan. Lois grew up in several silver towns across the panhandle of Idaho and graduated from Wallace High School in 1968. She then attended Multnomah School of the Bible where she met and married John Victor Snook in 1971. John and Lois had three children: Florence Annette, Norman Michael, and Jason Randall (d 1979). John and Lois’ divorce became final in 1983. During their separation Lois met Ralph Donald “Skip” Figgins (d 2014), who she married December 31, 1983. Lois and Skip were blessed with Skip’s only son in 1989, Benjamin Nathan Reilly. Lois worked for North Pacific Insurance Company for nearly 20 years retiring in the late 1990’s. After retirement Lois was free to pursue her passion for sewing. Over the past 20 years she has organized several sewing events for the purpose of creating fleece blankets for the homeless. Additionally, she and friends would sew garments for the children of the Uganda community which her church, Abundant Life, adopted. Finally Lois also enjoyed knitting sweaters, scarves, hats, and mittens which Abundant Life also gave away to those who needed them in the cold weather months. Lois is survived by her three children Florence, Norman, and Ben; her grandchildren, Sean, William, Stephanie, and Elizabeth, as well as her sister Dorothy Smith and her brother James Batelaan along with nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her sister Constance Fennell.
