Wesley Milton Droz Sr.

Wesley Droz passed away peacefully in West Linn, Oregon on Monday, May 8 at the age of 93. He was born in Wathena, Kansas to William and Mary (Miller) Droz. After graduating from Elwood High School in Elwood, Kansas, Wes went to work for the Burlington Railroad, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He joined the Army in June of 1943 to serve in the European Theatre during World War II. He spent twelve months overseas in England, France and Germany, and was decorated with several medals, including two bronze stars. After the war, Wes worked in several places, notably Oregon Worsted Mills, Mail-Well Envelopes, and as a supervisor for the OLCC. He spent later years helping at the Oregon City Liquor Store, and was known to use his sharp mechanical skills to help others. He was very active in the Beavercreek UCC Church. Wesley is survived by his daughter, Judy Craig; 5 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Wesley Jr.; daughter, Mary; and wife, Linda, who passed away in January. A celebration of Wes’s life will be held at the Beavercreek United Church of Christ at 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 17. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Beavercreek UCC Church. The family is forever grateful to Tatiana, her caregiver, and to Comfort Care Hospice.
